Coffeyville Flood Destroys City Animal Shelter
Local group to replace animal shelter destroyed in the
500 year flood of 2007.
We've established Coffeyville Friends of Animals, Inc. to build a community owned and operated animal adoption and care facility to serve Coffeyville and the surrounding area.
Imagine a place for the unwanted, and strayed dogs and cats in Coffeyville and the surrounding areas; a nice facility where they could stay while awaiting their return home or their adoption into a new home. What if there was an animal care facility in Coffeyville that was clean, efficient and quiet; a facility you would be happy to show visiting friends and family members? Coffeyville Friends of Animals, Inc. is a non-profit organization working to provide dignified and humane care of the unwanted and unclaimed animals in our service area; reduce the number of unwanted and strayed animals through aggressive educational programs; and provide a humane and dignified euthanasia for those not adopted within the time frame of available resources.
We will provide humane treatment and care by:

Constructing a new, state of the art, animal adoption and care center for the strayed and unwanted dogs and cats in our service area.

Having education and awareness programs concerning the importance of spaying and neutering as well as identification through ID chips.
- Providing assistance, through an endowment fund, for low cost spay and neuter programs for the low income families in our service area.

Alleviating future veterinary shortages by providing veterinary students with scholarships in exchange for their agreement to practice in our area for a specified time-period following graduation.
